What does it take to make our list of best vegan shoes for the Fall?
The shoes that made it into our list of best vegan shoes for the Fall are:
- Good for the animals… and more: All of the shoes listed here are free from any animal-based materials. However, companies with a soft-spot for the animals often care also about the environment, and humans too. Many of the brands listed here recycle, reuse, reduce, and make sure their shoes are made by workers that are treated fairly.
- Durable: Just like there are various qualities of leather, there are various qualities of vegan leather (made from polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane, or microfiber). Brands in our list make their shoes with quality vegan leather that will age with grace, or use alternate durable materials.
- Comfortable: I’ve tried cheap non-leather shoes, and they never seem to fit properly. The shoes in our list of best vegan shoes for the Fall will eventually break in, just like leather shoes would, or are simply comfortable from the get go.
- Stylish: Because who wants to buy a pair of shoes that is not going to rock your world?
Best vegan shoes for everyday chic: Melissa Campana
As such, Melissa Campana shoes are not advertised as being vegan, but these jelly shoes from Brazil were always cruelty-free and devoid of any animal product. These stylish flats that can be worn with a pair of jeans or a dress, even casual work attire. They’ll really work with any outfit, and since they are available in a variety of colors and styles, you can feel good investing in a few pairs.
The Melissa Campana vegan shoes are very durable, my sister has a pair that she’s worn on and off over the past six or seven years. It’s a look that really never goes out of style! A friendly warning though: if you buy a pair with glitter, be prepared to pick up that stuff all over your house.
Best vegan shoe for a weekend getaway: Cri de Coeur
If you are heading out of town for a weekend and need something cute, yet comfortable, these are the shoes for you.
Cri de Coeur means a “cry from the heart” as the French designers behind the brand felt the need to make a serious change to the traditionally cruel footwear industry. Many stars are big fans, including my favorite actress: Emily Deschanel.
I love the animal print, and the fact that these shoes are instantly comfortable, no breaking-in required. Now these are more suited to a casual weekend getaway, when you go apple picking or meet friend at a cabin. If your getaway involves clubbing in Vegas, don’t hesitate to look at other shoes from the Cri de Coeur collection, because their Lorena Wrap Sandal are sure to make heads turn.
Best vegan shoes for a girl’s night out: olsenHaus
Who said you could not be sexy and compassionate? olsenHaus is a brand straight from New York City. Not only is this company completely vegan, but it also advocates for fair working conditions for the workers who make their shoes (in Mexico and India).
These pumps get great reviews, not only for their style and luxurious, quality vegan material, but also for being surprisingly comfortable. I’m not one to wear heels that high, being already 5’9″, but if you are looking for pumps that make you feel sexy when you hit the club, look no further than olsenHaus.

Best vegan shoes for students: Converse
This is not a brand that needs a long introduction, but maybe you didn’t know that Converse shoes were vegan? These are perfect for those looking for a casual style of shoe as they head back to class.
My boyfriend wears his Converse vegan shoes all the time, he even throws them in the washer when they get too dirty, and one pair will easily last a year.
A really iconic shoe, Converse come in a variety of styles and colors, it might be hard to pick just one for your Fall closet. As far as a vegan shoe goes, these are also really affordable!
Not into navy blue? No worries, here are some of the other styles and colors of Converse available right now:
Best vegan shoes for getting back in shape: Saucony
I used to run in Saucony shoes, so it was a pleasant surprise to find out that the brand has been developing several models of vegan running shoes.
The Saucony vegan shoes contain no animal products, by-products or derivatives, while still maintaining the quality the brand is known for. I trained for a half-marathon in my Saucony’s at the time, through often rainy weather in the Fall, and they held up quite nicely.
Best of all, Saucony makes several styles of running shoes, some for hitting the pavement, others that will be perfect for the gym. No more excuses to get back into your workout routine!
Best vegan shoes for men: NOHARM
Coming straight from Italy, you have to appreciate the stylish look of NOHARM shoes.
Crafted in fair labor environments, these shoes are void of any animal products and by-products. Vegan men are no longer restricted in their choices of ethics vs fashion with these vegan shoes.
NOHARM shoes come in a variety of styles and while they are a bit more expensive than your average vegan shoe, the quality makes up for the price tag. Investing in a classic style means you can wear these shoes for many years.
The NOHARM vegan shoes are not just designed in Italy, they are made in Italy as well. How’s that for buying into quality?
TOMS: honourable mention for making vegan shoes, but the durability and fit is uneven
Over time, I have purchased a few pairs of TOMS vegan shoes. What’s not to love about TOMS shoes, right? For each pair you buy, one pair is donated to someone in need.
Unfortunately, these shoes have not not fared equally and this is why TOMS is not making it into the list of best vegan shoes for Fall. I’ve bought their classic shoe, but vegan, and part of the sole is coming apart on one of the shoes, after wearing them only a few times. I bought vegan wedges and have not been able to wear them much yet because they hurt my feet too much. Finally, it’s only a pair of vegan roman sandals that have been a great purchase: I’ve been able to wear them most of the Summer without any problems.
So here it is folks, hope this list of the best vegan shoes for Fall is helping you find the perfect shoe to wear on all occasions!
